Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act

The Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act (EICDA) is federally proposed legislation that would place a fee on fossil fuels at their source (i.e. coal, petroleum, natural gas companies). The fees collected would then be distributed monthly to the American public. The federal government would not keep any of the fees collected.

As of January of 2019, this legislation has not yet been passed. However, there is considerable bipartisan support for the bill.
