Geothermal power is generated with very low impact on the environment:

• There is no fuel used to generate electricity.
• There are virtually no greenhouse gases emitted.
• There are some sulfur compounds that come from the geothermal reservoirs, so scrubbers are used to remove virtually all of those compounds.
